Scumbria,

I am typing on a PII-338 (75x4.5) with 128MB RAM and have been quite annoyed by the slow motions of Nescape bookmark popup. According to the Pentium optimized Business Winstone98, it scores 24.3 which is less than 10% slower than Intel top dog PII-400.

Not only the bookmark pops up much slower than either M2-208Mhz or K6-336, PII-338 is slower to open Winword97 while using the same hard drive. For people used to M2 speed, like me, it is quite painful to use a PII.

I know that PII is crippled chip not suitable for daily applications. But, would you please explain what's wrong with PII for this kind of basic applications?
