The Swedish member of gov, Pierre Schori, wrote un interesting article in "Dagens Industri" about the Swedish gov's ambitions in Africa. This news is one of the results of the support from the Swedish gov to the DRC:
"Congolese ready to launch new congolese franc

Arthur Malu-Malu reported for Reuters on June 18 that DR Congo President Kabila believes that introduction of the new congolese franc by June 30 will provide the country a strong and stable currency. Mr. Kabila was quoted saying "Since the early stages of our struggle, one of my main concerns was to equip our country with a new, stable and strong currency. So it is with great satisfaction that I've just signed the decree introducing the Congolese Franc on June 30. It's undeniable that a strong and stable currency will attract private investment from inside and outside the country. I'm convinced that the Congolese Franc will be a fundamental asset for starting and accompanying the process of national reconstruction." The Congolese Franc will replace the New Zaire. One Congolese France will be equivalent to 100,000 New Zaires."

Regards.
