<<I heard that TDW has 25 boats tied up. (not verifiable>> actually, it is verifiable if you include the boats in drydock. Tidewater has clearly stated that they have at least 25 boats intended for use in the gulf in drydock for repairs. this is not the reason for selling.

<<someone knows something>> The Norweigan oil riggers are on strike. Savik services rigs out of Norway and the Northsea. If you think the Norweigans will remain on strike indefinitely...
<<managers are in South America>> They have boats running out of Brazil and are looking at contracts in Venezuela. So what?

someone somehwere thinks they'll miss their earnings report, and they're probably right given the expectations.

but the stock is trading at 1995 levels when TMAR earned about $.45 and had 19 total boats. They now have nearly 69 boats and earn about $2.

As for boats being tied up in the gulf - there are a lot of boats drydocked in the gulf for repairs. having grown up in oil producing country i can say the oil people are just like a bunch of farmers; when things are going great they're complaining, and when things are not going so great, they invent complaints for their congressman. I spoke to Green yesterday at there was no indication of what you're saying has any accuracy. It is probably a combination of the Norway strike and the earnings. They will, however, make at least $2 even under current duress circumstances.

What can we say about Michael Price's 10% ownership? Price was pumping this stock just last year in Barron's AFTER it dropped to the low $20s.
