I have been thinking about Buffet over the weekend

Saw a piece on CNBC about his merger

a Wall Street Journal reporter who follows Buffet indicated that Buffet rarely paid for a company with his own stock

so why did he do it this time?

well it is established that his stock is overvalued

perhaps he is using it because it is worth more than cash

if you read between the lines of some of his statements he has stated he is finding it hard to find anything to invest in...i.e...the market is overvalued

so to keep up the price of his stock he had to find something....
and used his overpriced stock to do it

what does all that mean...
well I dont really know
BUT
I find it interesting

"Has anyone discussed the fact that Buffet, the cunning old market
sage, has a vested interest in trying to prop the market.. I consider
him to be one of the best.. He knows what this should do to a heavy
market...."

so when you say he knows what this should to do a heavy market
what is your speculation as to what will happen
if you are thinking this will prop up the market...why would this prop up the market
