A friend of mine just told me that Gateway is opening one of its Country stores about 2 miles from the main Compaq campus in Houston. Are these stores successful for Gateway? I think CPQ has a better deal with Radio Shack. It will be interesting to see how much traffic that store gets.

I also heard that CPQ will end up throwing some but not all of the baby out with the bath water while trying to steamline DEC. I guess this should not be too suprising. If whatever DEC is working on is not profitable it probably is getting cut.
