PJ let me respond to your post to Kurt!
"<<Why do you continue call the exchange of information and ideas, even if they are sometimes controversial, "whining, feet beatin', bickering" etc.? Do you think we should not discuss ALL aspects of Naxos, including management's notion of business ethics?>>Kurt
"First, because your so called information lacks content and is not novel, and your ideas amount to no more than accusations."PJ
PJ does this mean that for a point to be posted on this thread it must be novel?
Second question: If Kurt posted information-lacking content why would you not ask for clarification.
What Idea of Kurt's do you feel are accusations. Your point here lacks content as well. Please give all the pertinent details as to what ideas they are and what accusations they make.
Second, because no one wishes to discuss the ante-Bre-X past there is No exchange merely targeted didactic contentiousness coming from you.
This one is too deep for me how about putting that one in layman's terms!
"Third, you have no intention to discuss but simply to spear the notion of "ethics" into the heart of Naxos as a carrier for your discontent." PJ
It seems to me he did intend to discuss the issues. He went so far as to put a list together.
"Discussions of business ethics properly are discussed in general terms with applications to all business." PJ
Whose rule is that?
"You have made an ethical "target" of Naxos" PJ
I do not view this as a fair assessment.
"Which you then proceed to attack and at the same time attempt to recruit the thread as the Ethics Brigade." PJ
This very well could be one of the legitimate purposes or uses for these threads. I would see nothing wrong with recruiting the thread for presenting a platform to the board.
"And fourth, because they serve no useful purpose except, apparently, the dubious accomplishment of culling the thread of some good contributors." PJ
I see no reason why anyone's legitimate statements would cull any member from the thread. If any one leaves a thread it is of their own doing or the Web Mistress kicks them off.
"The place for stockholders to demand anything begins and ends with the Board of Directors. These persons are the only persons in a corporation directly responsible to shareholders. Management is responsible to the Board of Directors not to shareholders except in the discharge of their duties as established and supervised by the Board. " PJ
I agree so far
"It is a shareholder's duty to report any suspected breaches of ethics only to the Board,"
Who made this rule up? A shareholder can go to the press or anyone they care to. There is no law stating this! If you know of one please produce it.
"notharass this electronic assemblage of declared non-interested parties." PJ
Kurt has not harassed me! I do not view his stance as harassing anyone!
"You have attempted to create an agenda out of ethics on this board and failed because you directly targeted Naxos not all business, even though I'm sure you believe otherwise. Had you sincerely wanted to discuss ethics you should have spoken more as Mr. Goldstein has, with terms that apply to business universally." PJ
Why is this so PJ? Why do ethics have to be discussed universally? Do you think Jessie Jackson went after all companies when he wanted diversity in the work force? Or did he just go after Coke and Anheuser Bush?
"Mr. Goldstein stands in sharp contrast to you, Kurt, and I believe that he is sincere. The fact that you have not opened up a dialog with the one person on the thread who not only is willing to discuss ethics but eager to do so betrays your true assaultive intent. " PJ
First Mr Goldstein was not the only one willing to discuss this point. Second why were you not willing to take up Bob's point as well PJ? You decided to attack Kurt instead!
In other of these respects I am in full accordance with Mr. Frederick's interpretation and analysis; we have no reason to believe that current management is not behaving with the highest business ethics. Our recent alignment with industry professionals certainly attests to that fact." PJ
How does a recent alignment with industry professional prove anyone is ethical or not? How does asking to discuss ethics prove anyone feels current management is not operating ethically?
"'Nuff bloody said! Jerard P"
Kurt's reply was the best on this point. I could ever come up with anything better.
