"...the efforts of at least two major networks-NBC and ABC-are being hindered by the soaring cost of entry and the diminished value of their brands in a universal interactive spectrum that produces megabrands like the $2 billion Amazon.com out of thin air. 'There's no question the big guys are waking up and trying to get in the business before it gets away from them, even though no one knows what the Internet will become in five years,' said a high-level meida executive. 'They're in overdrive trying to figure this out. They want to grab scale in a medium that is growing by leaps and bounds and that plays by different rules.' AT&T [and CBS.MW] would be wise? to enter into, at least?, an investment [pre-IPO private placement?] strategic alliance given these issues in addition to AT&Ts existing [wireless] alliance with DBC, CBSs partner in CBS.MW...
