PETRO/DAKOTA sign deal to Drill Big Sandy Diamond claims

La Ronge, Saskatchewan --Business Wire Nov.28 96 The management of Petro Plus Inc. (ppv A-ASE) and Dakota Resources Ltd. are pleased to announce that they have signed a letter of intent whereby Dakota can earn a 50 percent interest in the Big Sandy Diamond exploration claims.

The agreement calls for Dakota to fund a $500,000 diamond exploration program over three years, to earn their interest. The first phase is a $100,000 drill program to test a minimum of six priority magnetic anomalies defined by airborne and ground magnetic surveys.. Drilling is planned to commence shortly, and be completed in December. Petro Plus will remain the operator.

The Big Sandy claims are located 65 kilometres northeast of the Candle Lake diamondiferous kimberlite discovery, where Kennecott Canada Inc. has drilled a total of 20 holes into five diamond bearing pipes, of which three form a cluster. Although the two largest 1996 drill programs tested the Candle and Fort-a la Corne clusters, more than a dozen other companies have drilled or expect to drill in a total of nine joint venture programs.
