Duncan,

seems to me the only reason Cowen recommended this sucker was knowing that you and I, the stubborn fundamental shorters are still out there. It will create instant merit of his recommendation to squeeze our balls (shorted from $32-1/2). What do we get from AOL?

1) endless junk mails that distracts you from reading the e-mail you really want.
2) Hard to reach service people: I use small internet provider, never having trouble to reach them.
3)The real value might be at Motley Folly Stock Talk. But the participation is just tremendous, you have to click through long junky postings to find something really knowledgable writing. Besides, there are a lot of hypes that deserves not big merit. Silicon Valley Investor site certainly offers equivalently quality postings without charges.

Forget about On-line service, it is like to discuss tape-recorder in CD environment. Where is entry barrier to internet business? My provider is no more than mama and papa business which I actually take advantage of their low-volume business. So, I never have traffic jam. Isn't there any economical efficency when you are big compared to the smaller competitors? more memebership simply means more outflow for money spending on equipment built-up. I don't see a tremendous difference on the margin between a big guy and a small one.
