I agree - the Arcxel switch, at least the public information that we know about it would seem to indicate it is not in the same class as Ancor or Brocade. But then again, public information would seem to indicate that cascading is inferior to multistaging and a small backplane is inferior to a large backplane.

If all of this public information is correct, the deals would not appear to depend on technical merit alone. The only other explanation would be that Arcxel has a switch nobody knows about. It is particularly problematic given the emphasis that Ancor placed on their SAN focus at the sharholder's meeting.
