NWCI Daily Quick pick, taken off Yahoo! thread--- (M/NE USA) Jun 19 1998 11:16PM EDT
...Insiderwire presentation on NWCI? Interesting read:
"NWCI Snapshot:
New World Coffee & Bagels currently owns, operates and franchises stores in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Maryland, Florida and Germany. The Company's stores are the first in the industry to combine a coffee bar and bagel bakery under one roof.
On Friday, NWCI traded over 400,000 shares for a healthy little 11% gain. Is it because more and more people are getting up early every morning and relishing the opportunity to start their day with a fresh cup of coffee and a warm bagel? Maybe. Could it be Starbucks? Maybe. Could it be investors looking to reposition investment dollars to non Asian associated companies. Maybe. Could it be a drop in coffee bean prices. Doubt it.
To be perfectly honest, its a hunch. In our opinion, something is going happen. Rarely does a stock show this kind of volume on no news without some sort of positive results occurring shortly after. Unless. Well, we won't go there. The possibility definitely exists for more to come on NWCI."
Hmm...pretty forthright stuff. "Unless." Hints at the pump and dump. Seems like an honest bunch because of that.
They list their previous picks, and these lads haven't done badly--22 stocks, mostly OTC's, about half went up or went unchanged the rest down a little or a lot. One stock went up 40% the day of their pick, that was a $15 stock, still trading at $14, so looks legit.
Here's how they make their daily picks:
"Every weekday between 2:00pm and 5:00pm PST, the insiderwire posts our "Daily Quik Pik." We will post one pick each day which we feel to be a potential long term candidate and/or potential short term trading opportunity for the following day. Selected stocks are chosen based on a number of various criteria including, but not limited to, formal calls to the company, watching up to the minute news releases posted after the close of the market, identifying an increase in trading volume and chart trends, analyzing company financials, SEC and Edgar search for relevant recent filings and in-depth research of past company news related articles.
Daily Quik Piks may often be of risky nature and therefore appealing only to: 1) Those who love to live on the edge, and 2) People like us. You're on your own. We always encourage investors to perform their own diligence. Please read our disclaimer."
Hmm...what is an Observer to make of all this? I think they're legit. I'll be buying on Monday. Time for this Observer to jump into the pool!
