From the article posted by Patrick this morning, it looks like a customer order for a Xeon based workstation can be shipped the following week; whereas CPQs first shipments are scheduled for Sept. How can this not be an advantage? Isn't having product in the market a full 2 months ahead of competitors an advantage?

Dell speeds Xeon-line debut

Vendors, however, will not be shipping their products until the fall, with the exception of Dell. Dell showed off its new Xeon-based NT workstation line, the Precision 610. The new line will ship the week after the Xeon announcement.

Compaq will unveil its high-end Xeon workstations this September, to complement its recently announced 440BX-based midrange systems, the AP400 line.
