Banshee should do well, but there are some chinks in the armor. Here are some thoughts: The 2D performance is important and good news - it should improve the WinBench scores for the OEMs. The lack of multi-texturing is expected. The relatively quick upgrade to 2x AGP and .25u could be a big problem. Didn't 3Dfx just say the 2x AGP wouldn't make a difference in performance? So why do it? Seems like they are contradicting themselves... The addon-card market may be problematic too. Why buy a Banshee addon card if a better one will be available in a couple of months? OTOH, the Banshee addon market has always been a mystery to me (just buy a Voodoo2). TDFX needs to start discussing the Voodoo3 soon to combat any perception that they are abandoning the high-end. The statements that "The investors are forcing us to do this card" are _VERY_ poor PR. Chip
