This was just posted to me by my Sister in England. I am gonna keep an eye on this stock...sounds like it should be doing better than it is. Also need to find out more info about this tricorder product developed in England

Small US startup called Synthonics - SNNT is stirring up a LOT of interest in the US small investor community. They have landed a $2.5m contract with the Smithsonian Institute to put choice parts of their collection on 3D interactive CD. Not unsurprisingly like Tricorder there is a connection back to NASA.

The people in the know there think this stock is about to run big and very soon. Their cameras have motion sensors, but from what I can tell they do not seem to have the Laser Beam reflectance technology of Tricorder. Also Tricorder have the semiconductor micromachine motion sensor technology of BAe, which is patented.

The Synthonics stuff may well just use ordinary gyros, which would be a pain to put into battery powered or hand held gear. They are certainly keeping how their camera works close to their chests. Their main asset seems to be their morphing algorithms around computer generated wire frames. They don't seem to have any of their gear in outside hands, and seem to be concentrating on simply producing 3D rendering for customers at this moment.

I do not think the US investors though have any clue about Tricorder, and this could just be a nasty surprise to them. However I am also sure Tricorder are aware of this outfit, but this is certainly something to grill them about at the AGM on the 8th. The disappointment at finding a potential competitor has to be balanced by the huge excitement that is being stirred up over there at the possibilities, and the reactions of people who have seen the 3D renderings. Maybe somebody can find out what this outfit is capitalised at at the moment I only have a share price of 60 odd cents.
