***When to hold a position overnight.***

The primary objective of this thread is to provide a forum where daytraders can discuss specific, high percentage daytrading strategies and techniques.

To all: Lets get focused once again.

Here's a tidbit: As a daytrader, how does one decide whether
to hold a stock overnight? Here is one observation.
If the stock is rising on a "story" appeal, towards the end of
the day, mm's will recognize the volume and appeal and drive
the stock lower so they can acquire shares for the gap
and further run. This is the tricky part - trying to determine
how big a "story" you bought in to (cancer news, viagra, buyout rumour, fountain of youth, etc.)

What observations have others made to determine whether or
not to hold a daytrade position overnight?

Another aspect of holding trades overnight, some trading
firms will not allow you to use the money
from that overnight hold
until the day after you sell. Look at the SOES TRADING thread
for my explanation of this. (I left one firm because of this.)
