Kory, aren't there two GameFX titles coming out in 1999? Believe Farrell mentioned that in either a conference call or at RedChip. First one, Excession, comes out Q1. Not sure about the second one. The acquisition looks to be worth it--not only did THQ get two games, but a 3D team with ties to 3dfx. Since all PC games will likely need this technology in the future, as well as the new Saga Dreamcast, PSX II, Nintendo 128, etc., it seems well worth the price.
As usual, "Master" Farrell has all the data and we don't.
After sifting through more channel checks it looks to me that conservatively 250,000 copies of Quest have sold, when one factors in sales to video rental stores. The stores that got the game late are now fully stocked and selling a decent number of copies. The stores that were early are either on second or third shipments or most of the way through a huge (40, 50, 60) initial order. And it seems that Blockbuster has twice as many copies of Quest as it did NWO.
SF Chronicle reviewer raved over Mulan. A top ten Gameboy title is always nice icing on the PC/PSX/N64 cake. We'll see how it sells when it ships this summer.
