Radica said that it acquired the assets of Girl Tech, not the company. There is different accounting treatment of asset acquisitions vs. company acquisitions.

I believe that the IRS will not allow THQ to write everything off at once, and I'd be shocked if THQ tried (considering half the management is either a CPA or has worked for Deloitte & Touche -or both).

I just spoke to the company on Friday, and was told that they haven't decided what the charge will be yet. If they know, they're not saying.
