According to BioCentury's 6/22/98 issue, the 17% runup in ENMD last week was due to it being proposed to be included in the Russell 3000 index. 11 of 13 biotechs proposed to be added showed gains for the week, while 14 of 19 proposed to be deleted showed losses for the week. They included a table. The final decision on index membership is due out July 7th. "Stocks being added to a high profile stock index often see a temporary price increase and last week was no exception."
