Hi Addi, Thanks for your post. Man is made in the image and likeness of God which means we are an "eternal" spirit just as God is. We live in a physical (temporary) body. Animals on the other hand, not being made in the image and likeness of God have no eternal spirit. When they die there is no spirit to reside anywhere, that's it. When we die we are released from the body and go to our eternal resting place according to the choice we made while still alive in the body. Either with God because we accepted the salvation God has provided us through His Son Jesus Christ or to be apart from God with all the others who chose to be apart from God. Hope this helps. Bob
