Paul - At Schwab, they do exercise automatically only if the option is at least 3/4 in the money (this is written in blck and white in their booklet). I did have covered calls written on NOVL and I am keeping the stock. But, this is not the first time it happended with me (in fact it happened often enough). Come to think of it, why didn't the people at Schwab take my stock away for their own profit? There are, it seems, still some honest to God people out there! Ghassan.
