Mitch,

Today in the Austin Ameican Statesman there was an article regarding
the bee problem and whats being done to cure it. It stated that mites from South America were the ones destroying bee hives throughout the US, and that to date, Texas had been successful in the fight against these dirty creatures. "In Texas, chemical warfare against the mites has been so successful that the state's commercial beekeepers are helping replace the fallen elsewhere." It goes on to say that many beekeepers from Texas are sending Queen and package bees around the country(most of all to California). Following this they have quotes from indsutry people talking about how their current methods are very expensive and how there is a good possibility that these parasites will develop a resistance to current treatments.

Well, it sounds like there MIGHT be current solution to this problem, but obviously it is too expensive and must be somewhat unrecognized or untested if other regions aren't using it at this time. I really don't understand why California wouldn't use this same treatment unless it was environmentally UNSAFE(remember hear that microsafe is environmentally safe) or not compatible to that regions climate or bees. The good thing here is that there still appears to be no widely excepted cure to this problem.

FINALLY, on the front page it shows a picture of a bee researcher(whatever the hell that is) at the University of Texas Field
Laboratory. It doesn't say much about him or UTs' involvement in this problem, but if my memory serves me correct, I believe that one of the universities testing microsafe was UT itself. Very interesting if you ask me.

Sorry about the clarity of this message. Just a little too much wine tonight. Think its time for another glass anyway!!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving & Investing To All,

Dave
