Maybe you missed England's game v Tunisia. Maybe you should watch the England v Romania game tonight, and realise there is a gulf of difference between the teams, both in attack and in defence. Maybe Shearer doesn't have the dazzling dribbling skills of Ronaldo, but he has this uncanny knack of putting the goal in the back of the net almost every time he gets a chance. Also, watch Scholes, an even more natural goalscorer than Shearer..etc etc. As for losing to Germany in the quarter-finals, you should note that the last two cup competitions where England met Germany, the Germans were well outplayed (WC semis 1990, Euro semis 1996) but beat the English on penalties. Their luck has run out. In any case, your semi-final prediction leaves no place for either of these teams to play France???? There will be nothing quirky about the progression of England in this tournament.....
