George,

With all due respect, but the piece that you just posted, I hope is not yours, because I think it is the biggest piece of BULLSHIT I have ever read.

It is defeating in character and a sorry piece full of crying sorrow and shame, this is the crap that fraudulent tele-evengelist love to use. Feel sorry for yourself bullshit.

Believe me you do not win soccer games, (or anything else for that matter), with this attitude.

And worse, this piece sounds like a choice episode of a bad Mexican soap operetta. Leave this crap for bureaucrats, bishops and politicians!!

Above all, I disagree.

Yes, the coach was a complete idiot.

Yes, it was a complete waste of talent.

Yes, the USA lost and will have a red arse for many years to come.

But soccer is NOT dead in the USA, far from it, there are now generations of young kids with soccer blood, that probably have no idea what baseball is (which is good for them, otherwise they will be bored to death).

What happened this time around was that the most important job in the team was given to an inept clown who was probably placed there by an equally inept bunch.

So the USA lost, big deal yes it is very painful but it is a far cry from saying "Soccer is dead in the USA", that is BULLSHIT and DEFEATIST BULLSHIT AT THAT.

No question mistakes were made, but it will be a wake up call that will allow the USA to really bring its best, and watch the next tournament, the next team will be more aggressive and RESULTS ORIENTED.

Dominating, controlling etc. etc. yeah yeah, all that is fine, but you win soccer games by scoring goals. The USA forgot that small detail.

I can assure you the USA has learned.

BELEIVE ME when I tell you that the US has advanced a GREAT DEAL, remember my post about the "giraffe looking blondies" playing soccer and getting beaten, at least 3 x 0 (on a bad day for the winner)?

Today, qualifying for the World Cup against the USA is no walk in the park anymore, what a difference.

Also remember that there are only 6 countries (as it was mentioned here already), that have been World Champions, a tournament that has been played since 1930.

Brasil 4x
Italy 3x
Germany 3x
Uruguay 2x
Argentina 2x
England 1 x

So, no more of the defeatist attitude, or I will nominate you for the Thread Morons.....

Leave those posts to the media, that want to bring "attention" (the moronic type), to their broadcasts.

The USA played badly, they lost, end of story, it is now in the past, forget it and get ready for the next cup. In a strange way, this defeat may turn out to be the best thing that has happened to the US.

Again, remember that only a few years ago the USA would have no hope of qualifying for the tournament, now, you feel disappointed because you did not went on to the second phase.... I would say that there has been progress, and there will continue to be progress, but you do not get it for free.

To be amongst the best it takes great effort, great work and the ability NOT to make mistakes, the USA WILL BE BACK AND WILL DO GOOD, COUNT ON IT.

On with the fest, there are still a lot of great games coming up.

Z.
