Albert: Amati's modem is probably the best, why does it still need so many trials? I don't think the ADSL will be "the temporary solution for the next 40 years". If you miss the window of opportunity, no matter how good your product is, you lose the market. Wstl, Pair, Aware, Orckit, Alcatel, Adtran etc. didn't participate in that many trials but they all have contracts. Even my least favorate Aware has contracts from Teltrend and DSC. What's more important, trial or mass production? e.
