You and Mr. Mark still don't quite understand. The automobile is a CONSUMABLE, and is required to live. It's the perfect product. Computers are ALMOST the same, as they become obsolete every 3 years or so.

The ZIP drive, on the other hand, follows the normal 'FAD' product lifecycle, which is a very nice curve which has an upslope, peak, then downslope.

Why you may ask? Because a ZIP customer buys 1 ZIP drive, a dozen disks, and PRESTO, they are set for life. The Customer is done, no guarenteed repeat business, no repeatable revenue, etc.. The ZIP is not a necessity.

You guys must understand this concept to fully understand what is happening to Iomega right now and why they cannot get themselves out of it....
