Summary
3Com will be reporting earnings this week. We expect that 3Com will
report below our estimate of $0.19. The Street consensus is $0.17
with a range from $0.24 to $0.08 reflecting the great amount
uncertainty surrounding the quarter.

Highlights

* For 3Com we are estimating little sales growth out of the channel
compared to the February quarter due to continued weakness in the
modem business and pricing declines in modems, 10/100 switching, and remote access.
* The biggest swing factor in the quarter for 3Com will likely be
gross margins which could be down sequentially.
* Operating expenses expected to be down on a dollar basis.
