Clean: I snipped this out of Norman's link three or four posts back: Today: <<STOCKHOLM, Sweden (CBS.MW) -- Swedish telecom equipment maker Telefon AB L.M. Ericsson (ERICY) has begun acquisition discussions with three American networking companies, The Wall Street Journal reported Friday. An Ericsson executive told the Journal that the companies were each worth several hundred million dollars. ADRs of Ericsson rose 4 percent Wednesday on speculation that it would buy 3Com (COMS) or Ascend Communications (ASND) after Nortel (NT) bought Bay Networks (BAY) for $7.7 billion. But Ericsson said it was looking at cheaper start-ups. Possible targets include Hypercom Corp. (HYC), Juniper Networks and Newbridge Networks Corp. (NN), the Journal said.
