I think you are probably right. I also remember Acer and HP had some deal with SIGM, but don't know what exactly it was. Basically portable PC ( Laptop ) is the fastest growing sector in the PC industry right now. I have seen a lot of people at work carrying a portable, and even more people are planning to order one. My company offers dial-back remote access from home for after-work hours use. It will be a trend for employee who may ask for a portable instead of a desktop for the future upgrade. That way the company does not have to buy 2 PCs for each employee who plans to also work from home either after working hour or sometimes just work from home while baby-sitting their kids when there is no school during the weekday. Its only competitor I can think of is CHPS. There is another private company named NeoMagic which may also be its competitor. I know HP's 800 portable is using NeoMagic's graphics chip.
