Talking about stock buy-back

They still have 453K shares to buy back (out of the original 1 million from 1997). they bought back 547k shares for around $10/share avg price last year I think.

How can they refuse to buy-back at this level? 453K shares @$9/share (counting on a pop tomorrow ;-)) would be $4 million - and they ain't doing anything else with the money in the bank... might as well. If they don't you gotta wonder. But if they do....

How would that affect shareholder opinion? Would people be running around pissed that they drove the price down and bought back cheap stock? How would the smaller float affect the market for the stock? Seems like the split was an attempt to get more stock out there?

Have any of the numerous analysts following this company said anything?

I guess I just don't understand. I'd hate to be in mgt's shoes this week - they've got some hard decisions...
