I pre-muffed it. <ggg> It's in my post. <g>

Actually, I've noticed something. Most of the niche software companies, no matter how niche leading, suffer similar fates.

I've already mentioned our Hboc here, as well as CTXS.

How about PMTC, EFII, and even, to a lesser degree, NETA?

Psft has a much better thread, but not really commensurate with it's market position.

To shift to A- (i.e, everything but Lu) Telequip stocks: Tlab's thread, before the Cien merger announcement at least, was pretty slow. Afci's is positively moribund. Though its a very interesting company. Qcom on the other had has a wonderful and erudite thread. And so far for two years plus a dog of a stock. (I still harbor some hopes for Qcom, but from the sidelines, for now.)

On the other hand, chip equipment manufactures, chip companies (from Vlsi to Lsi to Cube, et al ad infinitum) have very active and interesting threads. No matter how unstable, and in many cases, how insecure, the companies involved really are.

Wcii has a red hot thread. But I think a much riskier stock than any of the one's I've postively highlighted. Though a lot riskier, I think not a much higher potential payout on the upside.

Go figure?

Doug
