I would think LU would be better off buying small companies and pushing the product using its name/reputation in the market place. As you know best technology doesn't always win in the market place. If I am not mistaken, CSCO was able to capture most of the switch market buying a small company making switches. I always wonder if CSCO has gained anything with it's purchase of STRM ?
