It's not rocket science, a lot of that stuff. A friend of mine once had some shot granite loaded out of a square-sided excavation and crushed to three-quarter minus for 3.60 a yard, right on a small lot in downtown Victoria, B.C. Then he got a deal on the hauling because the same guy had trucks.

I've done some tough but cheap roadbuilding and clearing with an ancient John Deere trackloader with a negligible market value. In fact, I've mostly finished, and have it for sale for twenty thou, if you're interested -g-

Turner has a name for pinching pennies, that was one reason bandied about for disagreements between him and Aber, so it might not be too surprising to see him looking at the smallish mine/mill in the near future.
