American General Ventures Signs Advertising
Agreement With Hotmail

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 23, 1998--American General
Ventures, Inc (OTCBB:AMGV - news), today signed an advertising agreement to market its
products through Hotmail Corporation, the world's largest Internet e-mail provider. Hotmail, the
world's leading provider of globally accessible, free Web-based electronic mail to over 12 million
active accounts, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT -
news). American General Ventures markets its affordable, branded multimedia computer systems
directly to consumers from its newly revamped web site (www.availpc.com). Avail is the name of
the Company's principal line of high-quality, low-priced, home and small business computer
systems.

The Company expects that its new relationship with Hotmail will enhance its strategy of using the
Internet to sell high volumes of multimedia computer systems directly to consumers and small
businesses. The Company believes that a large portion of Hotmail's users are potential Avail
computer purchasers and will represent a significant opportunity to add new revenues. Having a
relationship with Hotmail complements the Company's current distribution of its product online
through the world's largest retailer's web site.

AMGV is a leading marketer and distributor of affordable, branded multimedia computer systems
directly to consumers and small businesses via the Internet and other distribution channels. The
Company began a relationship with the world's largest retailer in 1995 by selling its computers in
its retail outlets. Because of the success the Company had with these retail outlets, expanding its
presence from eight to 70 stores in one year, the retailer asked the Company to feature its Avail
computers on its online store. American General Ventures quickly became one of the top five
revenue generators of the retailer's online store. The retailer's online store currently plans to offer
build-to-order (''BTO'') computers in late-1998 and has committed to using the Company as its
main BTO vendor.
