Futurenet's 50,000 Distributors to Represent NetBooks
Internet Product of Kanakaris Communications, Inc.

MALIBU, Calif., June 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Following demonstrations at the White House Internet Summit and at the annual BEA book show, it was agreed that the Kanakaris Communications, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: KANA - news) product NetBooks will be represented by the over 50,000 distributors of Futurenet.

Alan J. Setlin, CEO of Futurenet said, ''It is with great pleasure that we involve ourselves with the most futuristic company in the publishing field today. We feel very confident that this relationship will be beneficial to all the distributors throughout the United States that are involved in the Futurenet base.'' The theme of the Futurenet sales program supporting NetBooks is ''We're Looking For
Authors!'' Per the terms of a contract between Futurenet and Kanakaris, there will be reciprocal banner links between Futurenet-online.com and NetBooks.com. Futurenet distributors will be
encouraged to use NetBooks.com as an internet product demo site. The Futurenet distributor base will have access to new Net Books products, including Talking NetBooks, as they become available. One feature which Futurenet found attractive about the Net Books service is that it entails no traditional product inventory, shipping or return costs.

The concept of NetBooks is to enable any author to publish their book on the internet. NetBooks provides a paperless distribution for any book, which allows the company to deliver product to any customer with internet access. Initial products currently online include ''Quality of Life Achieving Balance in an Unbalanced World'', by H. Stanley Jones, ''Aliens Above, Ghosts Below, Explorations of the Unknown'' by Barry Taff, Ph.D. and ''Dream Dynamics and Decoding: An Interpretation Manual'' by Janice Baylis, Ph.D.

''Whereas Amazon.com provides a fantastic online ordering service for printed books, NetBooks takes publishing fully into the digital age by bypassing the need for traditional warehousing and distribution,'' stated CEO Alex Kanakaris, who co-created the NetBooks product with writer and teacher Michael Horn. Horn and David Valenti, President of Sales, have recently participated in several demonstrations of the NetBooks product. These included a demo at the White House Internet Summit: Digital Media Content for Children & Teens, June 11-12, 1998, in Los Angeles.

The forum was organized by EC2, the Annenberg Incubator Project, at the University of Southern California.

''Our goal is to take the elitism out of publishing and let the marketplace and readers decide what should be published,'' said Mr. Horn in describing NetBooks. ''The basic concept for NetBooks
was developed by Alex Kanakaris and myself for a period of over two years and now allows any writer with a computer and a modest amount of money the ability to make their book accessible to a worldwide audience,'' he added.

According to John McKay, marketing director, ''NetBooks provides a worldwide audience with 24 hour controlled access to any book which has been posted on the NetBooks website. Each book is categorized by author name, book title and topic. Website visitors can freely preview a selected portion of each book and read an author's biography before they make a purchase decision. Once ordered, a book can then be ordered online for instant download into their computer. Even authors that have published books can realize an additional revenue source!''

Authors pay under five hundred dollars to have their books posted online for a year. In addition to the exposure for themselves and their careers, they will receive a 50% royalty on all online sales.
Authors also retain hardcover, paperback, movie and other ancillary rights according to a Kanakaris spokesperson.
