First, I want to say, you will not lose me. I will continue to respond to you for as long as it takes, until one of us is convinced the other is right or one of us die. So don't worry!
You seem to have a problem with the New Testament. I don't agree with you about your New Testament discrepancies. But instead of going into each discrepancy you mention, which I feel have little importance to the heart of the matter. But if we must, I will. I have answer for all of your problems, but lets get more fundamental.
Who is Jesus Christ to you?
I am a Jewish man who has come to faith in Jesus through the Old Testament. Didn't need the New Testament. It seems from your response you give more weight to the Old Testament than New Testament. I can also see your faith struggles with your complete belief of the New Testament. So I will stick to the Old Testament and avoid using the New Testament.
The whole bible is a complete work that describes the Messiah cover to cover. Complete and without error. There are literally hundreds of versus in the Old Testament that speak of Messiah, as well as atonement for sin, which is the heart of the matter. The OT speaks of sin separating us from God and we need atonement. It speaks consistently of how that atonement is achieved through blood sacrifice. We need atonement for our sin! How do we get it?
Now we are down to the fundamentals. Do you believe we are sinners and need atonement for our sin? I promise not to use the New Testament as you have many issues with it. I will only use the Old Testament to substantiate my points. I do not want to force you into using anything you don't totally believe in like the New Testament. It is only fair.
Thank you for this conversation. It is a blessing for me to partake in it, and for others to watch and see its results.
Sincerely, Steve |
