100 meters is about 1000 feet. If your area is within a radius of this size then you can set up analog video with each PC that is equipt for video and connected to the switch. This capability is sellable for this size "campus" however if you think about the size of the White house itself does it need more than a 2000 diameter???
That is not the point I was trying to make. SEXI has a new system with different technology than they have been hawking for the past year.Beyond the 1000 feet limitation digital comes into play. ISDN,,
56 Kbs,multiple ISDN, Fiber, LAN all digital. Digital transmission costs are expensive. At the Demo I carefully looked at the electrical connections on the back of the SEXI unit. What I saw were either LAN cable or fiber connected to ports labeled Video-in,video-out,audio-in and audio-out. Assuming each uses 1 copper pair in a LAN this scheme uses 8 wires. Quite a bit when there are other systems available to do the same but whose technology employs only half this number of wires.If fiber is connected to the ports there are many competing systems available. I saw no i repeat no baluns and no twisted pair telephone wire (UTP).Therefore I do not know the total answer yet. They have a product that works. The White House has placed an order. The amount I do not know and frankly if its for only $1.00 it will have a major impact when the news gets out.Does it really matter what the technical details are at this point?
