Zeuspaul et al

I hope to be adding a PC (via the extensive knowledge base on this thread) to my lonely Mac around years end. I am also considering going with the Diamond Shotgun technology since one of Diamonds supporting ISPs has a local dialup number in the area to which I am relocating in Sept. This is a rural area where cable, xsdl or wireless won't be available anytime soon, so I figure why not go shotgun til that time arrives.

But my question now involves planning the cross platform integration of the Mac and the PC both utilizing the shotgun connection with, I assume, some kind of proxy server appropriate to this mixed enviroment. Does such a hybrid beast exist or am I asking for overhead complexities beyond my very meager network understandings? I don't think having the two computers as separate entities would be too much of a burden, if it indeed, were to be too much overhead for me. But I really would like to be connected to the net on both computers at the same time via one (Shotgun) dialup account.

I know there arn't many Mac users here (if any at all) but any suggestions or links to other sites dealing with crossplatform issues would be graciously accepted.
