Jeff, one of the things about good writing is that whether you like it is really in the eye of the beholder, because it is art. Miss Penni is one of the writers whose pieces I'm going to bring forward over the weekend, because I think she is one of the very best at SI. I had no idea that this would turn into a fight of some sort, though. It was supposed to just be a forum on a quiet weekend, where people who were around and liked to read and think about writing could do so peacefully. If you start reading something and realize you don't like it, just stop!! There are quite a few different styles, poetry and prose, serious and humorous, so read what you choose.
There has been altogether too much fighting at the Feelings thread, most of it involving Miss Penni, and frankly I don't even understand it or want to at this point!! I just hope it stops!!! In fact, one of my objectives in doing this project was to interject some positive energy over here, and you've already sort of spoiled it for me.
So bring some of your own writing over (so Penni and I can throw gummi bears at it), or pick something you like that you found at SI and copy it here, and tell us why you particularly like it.
Everyone is welcome, but it was not conceived as a place to really critique, just to quietly appreciate and enjoy again the things you do like but may have missed the first time!!!
I will excuse you this time, because obviously you're not dealing with seasonal and separation issues very well. Thanks for actually sharing your feelings (I think)!!!
