As for IR people, I don't agree that >>it's [their] job to get these powerful people to pay attention.<< I suppose they can and should try within limits to sensitize upper management to IR needs but from the other perspective a CEO has lots of other things to worry about, many of them of greater gravity. Please don't misconstrue this as sexist, too: don't mistake surface makeup for the underlying complexion, the beard for the chin, or the PR for the product.
I respect Ellen and her position for what they are, but I don't think it honors either to elevate them to "powerhouse" status. |
