We are working on an API that allows the IT department of the client to link up thier own data sources. The app comes complete with query by ticker abiltiy for Factset, S&P Compustat and Value Line Institutional's Datafile II. Factset is actually very good and is used by every major bank on the street except Merrill Lynch. It is also very expensive, hence prohibitive for small shops.
