Opala, I did not say her position or status were a powerhouse, only that she is.

While CEOs often ignore the P/.R. function I would think shareholder suits would prove this is an important area.

When one deals with many I.R. depts one ends up wanting to talk to someone else in upper management because the responses received are so inadequate. This is not true of most of us that call XOMA. Yes I am sure that some for their egos insist on talking to Castello. If they have enough stock they probably do. But this waste his time and exactly because his focus is elsewhere someone in his position is more apt to say things that should not be said. (IMO).

I still believe that I.R. has as a large part of its task, getting those inside the firm to pay attention to them. This is at times probably more difficult than dealing with shareholders, or at least most of them. <g>
