Chip,
While I admire your optimism, going through the doom and gloom scenarios is all part of a necessary reality check. I was formerly very bullish on this stock, but read more into the MONTY downgrade than was stated in the report, and have since closed my long position. I think that MONTY knew that there were no major design wins for Banshee. In all likelihood, TDFX had delayed introducing Banshee for this reason alone. IMHO, the specs are not what I would consider to be a breakthrough, and thus, I do not see any reason for the long-term secrecy.
While some may flame me on this thread for being a weak holder, I have cut my loses and moved on. Having bought DELL and MSFT at 80 and 83 3/4, respectively, with the cash from my TDFX sale, I am sleeping much better these days. I have never been successful holding on to a losing position with only hope as my guidance.
As a V1 and V2 owner, I still think they make an excellent product, and am still optimistic that V3 will be yet another breakthrough offering.
Good luck, Ryan |
