Like some others, I am not ready to merely dismiss the Twiford tale. He may not be an officer of the company, but he may be in a position of enough responsibility that untoward actions on his part could deceive Jensen and the company officers as well as shareholders. Recent scandals elsewhere have not always involved top company officials; often, the perpetrators are underlings, and the company has inadequate controls. Controls are not something I think of as a gppi strong point.

None of this is to say there is any real grounds for suspicion of wrong doing. But in an industry as noteworthy for scams as mining, gpgi stook out because of the widely acclaimed integrity and honesty of Jensen. That image now has a blemish. It will take a fuller explanation or some quick reports of verifiable progress to erase the blemish.
