Pher-02 is affective in angioplasity (PTCA ) . Floursol (first generation) was first
approved for PTCA in 1989. Your Dad's PCTA probably would have lasted longer
than 2 months if they had and used pher-02. It will also be used for bypass both in
priming of the heart lung machine and in general transfusion for the blood loss in the
bypass.

The doctor had told him that the reoccurrence of the blockage was caused by severe clotting around the 'stent' inserted in his artery from the angioplasty. He was participating in a double blind test experiment involving a blood-thinning medicine, and apparently had been receiving the placebo instead of the real thing. The non-clotting properties of pher-02 would have kept the clotting at bay, am I correct on this? Seems like such a product would be ideal in such procedures (and the bypass surgeries), especially in light of A) all the procedures that take place in this country and B) an older population developing as Baby Boomers move into the 50's and 60's.

Thanks for the response Tom (sanguine) and Prospector's legwork!
