TSE NOTICE / TSE 300 Composite Index Notice

TSE 300 COMPOSITE INDEX NOTICE

TORONTO, June 22 /CNW/ - This press release is meant to clarify the
treatment of the potential changes to the TSE indexes that may result from the
plan of arrangement between TransCanada PipeLines Limited and NOVA
Corporation. Note: TransCanada PipeLines Limited (TRP) and NOVA Corporation
(NVA) are in the TSE 300 Composite, TSE 100 and Toronto 35 Indexes.

In accordance with TSE Index Maintenance Policy No. 3 in the TSE 300, No.
2 in the TSE 100 and No. 11 in the Toronto 35 Index, when a constituent of the
index undergoes a reorganization as a result of a plan of arrangement the
successor company's stock will remain in the index subject to the Criteria for
Inclusion. (TSE 300 Composite Criteria for Inclusion No. 5, 6 & 7 are
suspended. To remain in the TSE 100 Index, the successor company must rank
between No. 1 and No. 100 of the stocks in the TSE 300 Composite Index based
on prior month-end rankings.)

In applying these policies, the TSE would treat each constituent
separately and would deem ''Energy Corp.'' the successor company to
TransCanada PipeLines Limited and ''Nova Chemicals'' the successor company to
NOVA Corporation. Subject to shareholder approval and TSE Index Maintenance
Policies, a further notice outlining the details of any adjustments to the
indexes will be released. The TSE would use the closing prices of the when
issued markets in making any decisions with respect to index adjustments.
