Seth, I spoke to RavNoy too, and he said this deal has brought MRVC a lot of exposure with the institutions. That they did the deal surprised me. But then, I think that, after the news of this offering and the cancellation two weeks ago, investors have not bought the shares for fear that the offering will inevitably come. By doing the deal anyhow (albeit at lesser prices), they remove the cloud, and get the money they need. However, i still am not sure where the money is to be spent. I think the best use is to buy the shares back in the open market. A bird in hand is worth two in the bush. Projections are tricky, but if your stock is undervalued, buy it. I know a few companies have actually done something like that. Henry Singleton from Teledyne (back in the 60s) is one. Furthermore, there is more incentive now for Institutions to bring the stock price to above 27 dollars. The Pru Coverage should help.
