ATI/Compaq......................................

newsalert.com

ATI Technologies Inc. (TSE:ATY) today announced
that Compaq Computer Corporation has chosen ATI's digital flat panel
accelerator board, the XPERT(TM) LCD, to power the new digital-ready Presario
5000 and 5100 series of home PCs>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

It needs a daughter card. C-Cube first showed its daughter card plugged into an ATI board in January.....................

Based on ATI's no-compromise RAGE(TM) LT PRO mobile chip, the XPERT LCD
delivers high-performance 3D, 2D and DVD video acceleration to all-digital flat
panel and CRT monitors. The XPERT LCD supplies superior 3D acceleration as well
as comprehensive 3D support, including a triangle set-up engine, single-pass
trilinear filtering, six perspectively correct texturing modes, video
texturing, Gouraud and specular shading, and a host of 3D special effects. The
XPERT LCD provides full AGP 2X support, including SideBand Addressing (SBA), to
display all the massive 3D textures of AGP content on both conventional CRT and
DFP flat panel monitors. Able to quickly access large amounts of 3D textures
stored in system memory, XPERT LCD's full AGP 2X support delivers extremely
detailed textures, resulting in richer and more exciting 3D images.
