Sorry to hear you shorted zran.
Thanks for your concern.
Sorry to see your long on a downtrending stock (traded as high as 38 in 1996....about the time you first posted on this very informative thread.)

It seems to me more good things than bad will occur over the next 3-6 months.
I will be long gone by then....and will be more than willing to re-evaluate a future long position when something does happen. But for the moment I see nothing in ZRAN that justifies a long position.
Anyway, I see that the 3-6 month time frame for an "explosion" was mentioned here before....about 8 months ago when the stock was trading , ironicaly, much higher.

I've been surprised zran sunk as low as it did
That is unfortunate. However the nice price swing from 9 to 13 over the past few days was a welcome relief for long holders I'm sure. I hope some were able to profit.

you coould get caught on a quick rebound into the 15-16 area
Not likely...in that my stops are set way below 15....although it is unlikely. Good work and best of luck to the faithful longs if that is indeed the case.

When zran runs, it runs awfully fast.
Most thinly traded downward-trending securities do run when they have a positive news release. The daytraders love these type of momentum plays. It is a shame that the volitiy is usually short lived, only to return back to the original trend.

With the past two days of high volume it appears others than indididual investors may have targeted it.
That is the plan....it is called a "second-day short-the-news play".
Many new investors invest on the news play (while traders play the volitiy both ways)....and many already established investors "average down" (which I might add is a cardinal sin in investing). This creates upward momentum while the news is hot. But the effect often (not always) cools after the morning activity of the second day (today in ZRAN's case). BTW...less than 1MM shares traded is pocket change...it was all individual investors.

Regards....
