LB,

Agreed about the long-term issues with the lawsuit...short-term bad news and likely continued negative press releases by the lawfirms to attempt to further bring down the price. Won't matter in the long haul.

The patents are very interesting. Although these won't lead to a product in the immediate future, the potential has just been increased incrementally. Don't know if anyone remembers a while back about the primary issue ATIS brought up they were having with growing organs, but it included being able to generally grow certain organs, such as the liver if memory serves, outside of the body, but without a way to ensure proper vascularization and ultimate survival of the organ, let alone functioning. ATIS has obviously worked hard at finding a way to deal with this problem and this set of patents sounds like an indirect answer to this. Why try to grow it outside the body to find a way to later put it in if indeed it would be easier to put it in early and let it vascularize and grow to what and where it is supposed to. They described it in just the same way I would this process..."over time, the cells grow into a fully functional tissue using the body as the incubator," with the last phrases being the main point. Sounds like ATIS is looking at a whole new way to make tissue engineering work.....not always the what, but the how. The potential, although very long-term, has just increased tremendously, as growing organs is the holy grail of tissue engineering.

First step right now is getting the easy organ out...skin....or their rough equivalent to part of it, dermagraft. Well, actually the first step right now is getting the reinspection done with in august. All still looks okay, except for the current portfolio value. Looks like the current trading range is mid 3s to low 4s until there is reason for other moves.

Take care,

Marshall
