Beats buying AOL for $30B+ TCOMA has over $14,000,000 customers, and T will be able to sell them local, long-distance, Internet, and cable services in one package.
For a long-distance telco buying a large cable operator is sort of a no-brainer, but I always thought WCOM and not T would make the first move into the cable.
With one bold move, AT&T is remaking the entire telecom industry. Here's my list of potential winners and losers:
Winners: cable cos, cable and xDSL modem makers, Internet content providers, anyone who benefits from Internet growth, ILECs (the ones that will be acquired)
Losers: ILECS, CLECS, WCOM/FON/at al, ISP's, DBS/USSB/et al.
